Just bought a 2013 sonic lt for the wife and I took her 2011 aveo lt to replace my 2004 caviler. I thought the aveo was fun to drive until I drove the sonic. Wow what a differance.
sadly this is true
hi!
we must say that is the same car aveo/sonic.
sonic for USA and aveo for europe!
i have 1.3 ltz aveo diesel with 6speed gearbox and 95hp.
it was the replace car for my wife because we need 4 door car for the small jason!
i have GRAND VITARA DIESEL 1.9 ddis with 169hp and 36kg torque.
Both cars are diesel and belive me the 1.3 for aveo its tooooo much!
speed-power-and the most important is the fuel.
3.9L/100klm.
yes its true.
i put 50 euros diesel to the tank and gives me with the way we drive the car 900klm to be empty.
u can drive with the 6gear and only with 1.200rpm.
u don't need more speed.
its a small/big medium car with more possiteves and with less negatives.
the engine is the very testet 1.3 from fiat (now GM) and u can find anything u need in all the auto parts store.
my model its the new one (u can see the day that the car build up at the sticker of the seat belts) (or at the glass of the car) production day was 18/10/12.
start stop system to the traffic lights - cruise control - touch screen with all the goods - 500litrs trunk fits even me inside - my color is white and i belive its very good quality of color (i paint cars) the seal they use and the way they put it on the car its not so good(negative) u must put extra wax protect for the rust under and inside the car.
many places for small objects(sunglasses - usb ipod iphone special case - general is good.
the seats are ok and u can adjust it very well - the driveview its ok - nice dashboard with anything u need - they must use better quality of plastic inside the 4 doors (negative) if u hear any strange sound from the front wheels its the calibers of the disc breaks that the forget to put some grease insibe the rubber seal and make that sound (negative).
general its ok the car!
we have about 3000 klm until now and i am still check it.
the chevy dealer here at crete greece is a friend of me and we talk alot and also we give some good feedback to the company!
the only secret about the diesel is that the company says to change the oil every 15.000 klm with the filter.
forget that.
every 8.000 the maximum with the oil filter because the turbo engines mixs the exaust gas with the oils and gets more ditry day by day, plus we have too much hot weather here.
that's from me and i will post some fotos soon with some extra parts that i install to my car!
have a nice time to all here!
and be carefull!
vasilis crete greece!

Got a picture of both together. Can't tell from this pic but the Sonic is a hatchback too.
Where are my fellow Sonic owners?
Bought mine brand new off the lot for 16k. I do have the basic package but for the price, I see it beyond worth it. I have the 1.8 not the turbo (which adds a few grand) and I have driven my car into the ground already. Pushing 40k miles within the last year and a half.
just so its said, I'm here fellas. Wife who owns the Sonic is not too big on car forums nor is she big into cars to begin with. I'm still alive and you can find me at CruzeTalk.com under the screen name of NYCruze2012!
Missing our beloved 1st gen Aveos everyday!
Silence is golden. Duct tape is silver!!
04 Aveo (mine gone but never forgotten)
07 Aveo 5 (wifes car gone but never forgotten)
02 Suburban (Eats gas stations as snacks)
12 Cruze Eco 6MT (46mpg daily? Holy crap!)
12 Sonic 2LT (Wifeys new wheels)
Chevoo-1/2 Chevy, 1/2 Daewoo. I mean like WTF?
Traded my '06 Aveo in a month ago. I tried a Spark just to say I'd been in one (it's actually easier to get in and out of than the Cruze) but it was too buzzy and rode too choppy for my liking. When I tried the Sonic LT sedan, I was sold on it immediately. I got the LT sedan in Victory Red (like my Aveo) adding on only the MyLink radio, I took it with the 1.8 and automatic. I have 1500 miles on it now and all I can say is it is well worth the price difference between it and the older generation Aveo!
Congrats Captain Manic on your new Sonic purchase! I am also the Chevrolet contact over on Sonic Owners Forum. Maybe I will see you your there one of these days. Enjoy your new Sonic!!
