Thread: 2006 Chevrolet Aveo (Garage entry)

i have a 5 speed aveo. this is my second one.. the first was an automatic but it was an 06 as well... i threw a rod through the block in the first one put a motor in it and sold it.. this is my second one i threw a rod through the block in it as well.. i bought a motor out of a 2008 that was in a front end collision. it broke the cam gear so i changed it put a new timing belt on it put it in the car and it locked up. so i took it out tore it down and discovered 2 bent valves because it is an interference head. i still have the head off the motor that threw the rod... i had it pressure checked and shaved and its fine... i bought rod bearings, rings, a timing set, and gasket set with new head studs... in the next three weeks im gonna reassemble what i have and hope for the best.
