Thread: Lucky :: 2005 Chevrolet Aveo (Garage entry)

I bought this car for $400 with a rod through the block. It was on it's way to the junk yard. I got a short block from the local boneyard for 200 bucks. Tore it down and went through it. Had the head cleaned, checked, and a valve job done, two valves were bent from collision with the piston in number two cylinder. $270 for the head work. New timing kit with water pump after head gasket set. Had to replace the oil pan, when the rod broke it came out of the oil pan. Changed the wheels, had steelies with no wheel covers, got a set of 2007 LT Aveo Aluminum wheels for 225 with minimum scuffing. Finally got it on the road today (5-1-2016) A couple of water leaks and a leak in the oil pan need to be addressed. So far so good. I had one of these new back in 2004 and really wanted another.

Only body mod I have right now is a hand customized grille.
