2008 Headlight issue

I have a 2008 Chevy Aveo LS with 60K. When you drive it the blue light that indicates the brights are on, is always on very faint on the dash. It only goes off when you shut the vehicle off. Also the driver side headlight is very dim. Does anyone have any ideas?
