Hello everyone,
I drive a 2006 5-speed Aveo. For a while I was having intermittent problems where I had no pickup, which seemed like it mostly happened when it rained. I was thinking bad TPS, but then it stopped so I never replaced it. Yesterday I cleaned the engine bay and it ran for a while, but had the problem where pickup was very bad again. Today it's starting, but dies after a few seconds and feels like it has a misfire. The battery light also comes on, but voltage is fine and it tries to start every time. I checked the ignition coil and it's good and I cleaned up the spark plugs. Is it likely the TPS? The battery light threw me off. Just wanted some other opinions before I spend the money and time on it.
EDIT: I also lost one of the little white insulator things in the ignition coil plugs, but I find it hard to believe that that could be causing this much of a problem. There is no CEL.
Thanks,
Scott
