      Camshaft Identification

I'm replacing a head on my 05 aveo but in the middle of the job I had to move the car and lost track of where some parts went. Now I can't figure out which camshaft belongs to the intake or exhaust and there is hardly any identifying marks on the cams. I see one has a "bg" and the other has a "be", not sure if that means anything. Does anyone have any information to determine which cam goes where? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the 50/50/90 rule may apply here. Good luck...

This is a good question! When I had mine out, I looked them over really well, even measured the lobes, both were the same. Then when I sat them side by side the phase timing of the lobes was identical. So I had suggested that both cams are the same one, and no one objected. So slap them in, and turn the engine over by hand just to be sure, but no I could not find any way to tell the two apart from my stamped I and E when I took them out. If you can post a follow up. I could not even find a mark on mine, both were identical to the last detail.
