Menagerie of Issues
Hello! I currently have a 2007 Aveo and since getting the car I have had a menagerie of issues. I'm honestly surprised it still gets me from point A to point B, but for that I am VERY grateful. My current issues are: all of my cylinders are misfiring(almost sounds like a muffled machine gun when idle and driving), my lights for my radio are out(but there's no blown fuse), my left battery terminal stays loose no matter how tight I try to tighten it causing me to have to jiggle it until it allows me to start my car. I have replaced the spark plugs before and have a feeling that's probably why it's misfiring. On the other hand, I have no clue whatsoever as to why my radio lights don't work. They haven't for awhile, but I figured since I'm posting, why not inquire? I'm assuming for my battery issue I'll just have to replace the cables? Just looking for opinions/thoughts, I've honestly heard nothing but terrible things about Aveos since getting it. Looking for some positivity! :P

the misfire is just as likely the wires or coil pack, not just the plugs. Not sure of your mileage, but it wouldn't be terrible to replace all of them. The light for the radio could just be that, the bulb burned out. Its time consuming to replace, but sticking in another OEM radio is possible for cheap, could even be a good time to upgrade, is it a new body sedan or a hatch? I think I have an 07 style sedan CD/MP3 somewhere..
the loose battery, it could be the wrong battery, it could be the cable is worn out, either way it sounds like you know what the issue is, and a way to fix it.

Try fixing the batery issue first. A shorting battery can cause all sorts of issues including misfires. Especially if it is floppimg around in there loose making contact then not making contact. You can get baterry post shims. Its just a cap that goes over the terminal to fill the gap and allow the terminal to tighten down. Remember its just lead so hand tight then just a quarter turn is tight enough. The caps are just a couple bucks at autozone. Hopefully this helps if it doesnt let me know. Also while your there getting the caps check to make sure you have the right battery like in the previous thread.

Yeap fix the batter and get a code scanner. If you have a smart phone, you can use ODBII to Bluetooth connector. Very cheap.
