my previous post was referring to the member who was posting about the thermostat being defective which cannot be the case in my situation.

with regards to the heater hoses, htey are both hot/warm when the engine is at operational temp.i don't see how it could be the blend door as all linkage to it on my aveo are mechanical and seem to be operating correctly upon inspecting..

Well something is blocking something. Since the "hands sample method" has not given us hard core numbers, I suggest switching to a IR temperature sensor and aim at these points
1) radiator inlet
2) radiator outlet
3) heater core inlet
4) heater core outlet

If there is a temp drop that means there is a form of heat exchange. You need to measure the air temp into the heater box and the outlet. Put your fan on medium and recirculate mode.

If the air temp does not increase by a lot say 5 degrees, then you might have blockage in the air flow and check the air filter assuming you get a big drop on water temp to the heater core. It might seem silly to measure the water temp to the radiator, you need those numbers to make sure water is flowing in the system or see if the TSTAT is stuck open/closed.
