P0113 (where is the air intake temperature sensor??)

Hello all,

I have a 2009 4dr hatchback and had numerous codes p0102, 0113. I switched out the air intake pipe and MAF sensor and now I only have P0113. I couldn't find air intake temperature sensor anywhere on the air intake pipe and then read that it is incorporated into the MAF sensor, but I'm still getting p0113. I'm about to rip out the air filter housing to see if anything is there. I'm at a loss now. :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Is it possible that the air intake temp sensor is located on the throttle body itself? The schematics on this car are terrible. I'm pulling everything out now, clean out the throttle body, see what that does.

I think 2009 has a different setup and you're right they are terrible.

Found this:

Note: The intake air temperature sensor is no longer replaced as a separate service item. If
the intake air temperature sensor is faulty, replacement of the entire air cleaner inlet duct
will be necessary.
1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor.
3. Disconnect the breather tube from the air cleaner intake duct.
4. Loosen the clamps securing the air cleaner intake duct.
5. Remove air cleaner intake duct.

I did find that install procedure. I also found online that chevy incorporates IAT sensor with the MAF sensor, so I figured replacing MAF with the p0102 reading would do the trick but not for p0113. I replaced the inlet duct, maf sensor, pulled out the air filter housing, cleaned it. Cleaning the throttle body now. Looking for a schematic for it but nothing is similar. Did a freeze frame on my odb reader and iat sensor is at -40. There are no breather tubes or sockets for an air flow sensor on the inlet duct housing. Only thing connected from the air filter housing to the throttle body is the inlet duct and MAF sensor. Checking MAF connector with a Multi meter now to see if there is a bad wire, connector. This is really a mystery now.

I paid $28 to talk to a chevy tech online. The IAT sensor is built into the MAF sensor, like I thought. He thinks it's a short in the wire or connector. Told me which wires to jump to see if that is it(brown and white) I'm now looking online how to check for wire shorts. visibly, I see nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing burnt, fraid, crumbling, rusting. connector looks good. sprayed some electronic cleaner in it. still the same p0113 code. been looking online and at the part stores for a new connector, but couldn't find anyone who carried it (pepboys, advanced auto, autozone). techs at all 3 places said it would probably be a dealer part......great. going on 2 weeks now. I'm trying 1 more thing, then bringing it in. Oh well, I tried.
