Thanks. Yep may have to do that again.
But I heard they loose their initial softness once crushed. Only way to renew them properly is to heat them up with a blow torch which I don't have.
They are 18mm/14mm centre and about 1.5mm thick.
Hopefully on Monday I should be able to order a few new ones.
The rad came with a new one for the lower fitting but not the upper which is a bit daft
Lower fitting sealed perfectly with not much effort.

      Thanks

Just take the washer to a plumber, or a car repair shop and ask them to “heat it up”. Just don’t melt it
yes copper washers can be reannealed.

how difficult can it possibly be to find copper washers?? omg very difficult if you don't live in the 1st world!!
      Chevy parts shop nothing!!
Local garage who do brake services - apparently they have nothing - don't believe them for a second (most aren't willing to help you with small accessories like this unless they are doing the work themselves)
      Some just ghost my messages.

man I wish we had O'Reilys or something. Such a mission - sent out about 8 messages/emails to various parts suppliers here in Uruguay!!

Looked on amazon USA - all parts including drain plugs 'prohibited item to import'!!! What a washer or bolt/nut? Crazy!

      Lol very true.

Just bought a pack of washers after an exhaustive search. They are the right inner diameter and thickness but a little wider. Looking at the bango and radiator fitting I don't think the extra mm on either side will make a difference.
      We'll see.

Planning to import a set of varying sizes from USA for future jobs on the car.

Looks like finally success with a good seal on the bango! Wrapped a piece of kitchen paper towel around it and after 2 days no stains of red atf.

Still interested in knowing the torque settings for this.
      If anyone knows..

Factory had added a line of paint across the bolt so I guess that had been torqued
