Warped Rotors or Bad CV Shafts?

Hi, my sister’s Aveo has a vibration in the steering wheel that feels like warped rotors but I’m wondering if it could be something else like the CV shafts or something I’m not thinking of. What made me suspect it might be something other than the rotors is that it’s just as bad when you first start driving as it is when the brakes heat up. It also gets significantly worse any time I took a sharp turn. Are there some additional tests I can do to determine if it is something other than the rotors? Thanks!!

Some other things to check -

wheel out of balance - take it to a tire shop for a balance
bent rim - inspect inner and outer edges of rim for bends/warps
wheel bearing - jack car up and try to wiggle tire back/forth and up/down while it is still on the car.

I've never had a bad CV cause a vibration.

I forgot to mention my sister weights 350lb's. I wonder if the uneven weight could cause the wheel bearings to wear prematurely.

      I doubt it.

To check your rotors for warping, hold the straight edge of a ruler lengthwise against the surface of the rotor. Look between the rotor and ruler. If there's a gap anywhere, the rotor is probably warped.

On my dads aveo I had the ordeal of guessing bearings or CV joints. All the pointers on the internet about faulty CVs just say "it makes more noise while turning" and "torn boots leaking grease all over" which wasn't the case but ultimately the primary problem was a bad CV. In my own opinion in terms of amount of work load I'd replace CV joints first over bearings if the wheel has no play tugging on it in the air and choose a side by jacking each one seeing which makes more noise while running in gear (Dont forget the parking brake & chocks :P ). Also if finances are in your favor Id replace both because the other CV isnt far behind... (Dads other CV went foul 3 months later)
