AveoClub getting a custom skin (style) this week

Just a heads up...

AveoClub is going in for some minor bodywork and a respray this week.

We've had a designer working on a new look for the site (hinted at it when we swapped out the default phpBB logo a while back). So at some point before Friday, you'll log on and the forum will look something like this:



(OK, if you really prefer the default phpBB skin, you'll have the option to switch back to it in the user control panel. )

Eventually ... the plan is to feature members' cars in the header slot where the 2011 Aveo RS concept is. Sort of on a random rotation. When that feature is set up, if you'd like to have your car shown up there you'd just have to say so (oh, and post a good photo if you haven't already).

Annnnnd.... AveoClub's new skin is live!

If you happen to spot any bugs with this new style, let me know in this thread.

And if you *really* don't like it, you can switch back to the default phpBB skin in your user control panel > board preferences > my board style and select "subsilver2".

Yeah, I'm very happy with the way it turned out.

The guy who designed it is only 18 years old, and just got kicked out of his college graphic design program. :P (Supposedly social activities were interfering with academics... not because he can't design!! ) Doesn't hurt that he's also a car nut and forum user (not AveoClub - he's mostly into VW's).

This was the first project he's done for me. Now I've got him working on some other web work.
