We got the same news in North America this month, although the model name here is the 'Sonic'. (The Aveo name was dropped here after the redesign around 2012.)

GM and other companies have been canceĺling cars from their line ups because people are buying more SUVs and crossovers instead.

Same in Australia? I read about the canceĺlation of a number of micro/city cars in your neck of the woods.
