i have never seen a 5 speed that did not have a pilot bushing but i cant find a part number or a clutch kit that comes with one. i have tried napa o'reily ebay and autzone. guess ill call the dealer monday (i was moving right along too)... im a little up set that i just got stopped over a pilot bushing but the hole in the crank almost looks the same size as the shaft so i guess what i am asking is does the aveo have a pilot bushing?... i have more pics ill post later

tell me about that mustang.
its a 65 fastback 98% complete all stock except exhaust..
I don't think the aveo has a pilot bearing, but i have not torn mine apart that far.
is the engine of the input shaft on the transmission tapered and smooth? or does it stay splined to the end of the input shaft?
if it stays splined, it most likely does not take one.
Did you take out the transmission? did you remove a pilot bearing?
i through a rod through the block and the motor i got was out of an automatic that jumped time so it didnt have it anyways but it bent 2 valves so i scrapped the bad block crank head and did not even think to check for the pilot bushing:/.... so i screwed up... but i pulled the motor and tranny out as a unit through the top it took me 3 hours. the front shaft tappers down and it matches what the hole in the crank looks like but id just hate to put it together and waste all this money i spent rebuilding this motor by messing up my crank.
I just read through the service manual, I found a reference to replacing the input shaft bearing on the end of the crankshaft, but no part numbers or anything that will help you beyond the fact that it apparently has one.
i used a micrometer measured the width of the shaft the hole in the crank and went to autozone and matched it myself... i just started it and it does run i gotta replace the plastic coolant tube on the back side of the block though.... it runs it runs
congratulations
ok so i did not drive but a mile when i finished it cause the coolant leak... i fixed that today... i drove it and the check engine light came on then started blinking. i put the scanner on it and it had a p0300 (random multiple misfire) a p0302 (misfire cylinder 2) a p0304 (misfire cylinder 4) and a p0340 (camshaft position sensor a circuit malfunction).... i swapped back to the cars original coil and camshaft sensor and all my codes went away... 700 dollars this rebuild cost... money well spent.. i really like the little gas getter if you have any questions dont hesitate to message me ill be more than happy to share my opinion...
