I would really like detailed instructions ( preferably with pictures ) on how to change my cluster lights..
i have read all other posts, but they all deal newer models, and clusters, can someone help describe the process to a new Aveo fanatic?!

They are solder mounted leds. My 09' Aveo5 is the same way. Luckily though I've been working with BlackCat Custom, and he has made us some custom gauge and lighting kits for our cars that are ready to order now. They are fully customizable combinations, like background color, lighting color, custom text, logos ect. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=27389&start=0Originally Posted by Donaveo

would i need the entire gauge film / kit?
i've been really wanting to take the cluster apart, and see about replacement bulbs.. is that not a good route with the 07 - 09 sedans?
You can do that, if you just want a different lighting color. You'll have to snip the led's off the board and solder the new ones on. It's pretty easy. He sells just lighting kits if that's all your interested in.

i mean, i would change the font, face, color & text. it's just pricy right now, right after purchasing the car..
i would like to personalize the car the most i can with little cash for now.. until i obtain more greenery from the local bank. what recommendations do you have for an 07 headlight replacements? i want pretty bright, but not too expensive..
Well, there's conflicting opinions but I love HID's. I got mine from vvme.com for like $75 US I think. You should do the "Joey Mod" on your headlights. I love the way mine turned out. It's a DIY, costs about 15 bucks.Originally Posted by Donaveo

i'd like to inquire about the "joey mod" ...

i would need HID's if i were to do the joey mod yes? otherwise, my stock lights would not be bright at all yeah?
The "Joey Mod" does not effect light output. All you're doing is painting the trim piece flat black. H.I.D.'s are nice though, I love mine. Like I said, they're pretty cheap from vvme.com, but be forewarned, if you ever have trouble with a bulb you might as well buy a new pair because they give terrible customer service. I've fought with them before.
