      '09 oil filter

Where are the '09 and '10 Aveo owners getting the cartridge type oil filters? I found them at Napa, but 9.88 is pricey. Anyone found them cheaper?

I order mine thru Factory Motor Parts. Genuine AC Delco filter. My cost thru work ends up being well under $5.

I stocked up and have a case now. haha

What do you mean there's no turbo?

I'm severly jealous. My discount came out to $8 from the dealership

What's the deal with the price increase on the cartridge filters? Is it just supply/demand? It would seem that simply omitting the metal housing would make them cheaper, or am I incorrect and they're somehow that much different than "standard" filters?

Best local pricing I have found is from Carquest Auto parts. $6.88 each and they are the Wix filter with Carquest label.

FYI: dealer was not too bad at $8.95.

The reason these filters are so much more money is because they are made in much lower numbers than most of the old-style can filters.

There's a reason a PF47 filter for a Chevy V6 engine is $2 is because there are about 787,987,174,165,740.2 Chevrolet V6 engines on the road, and every one of them needs a clean filter every 2-5k miles.
