I need a reliable commuter -- I drive 54 miles to work in Cheyenne, Wyoming, about 110 miles per day round trip. I'll spec out the two cars I'm looking at and await comments and advice. Thanks!

2004
71k miles
timing belt and water pump recently replaced
new tires
5 speed manual
newer clutch and brakes

2007
68k miles
original timing belt and water pump
new tires
5 speed manual
original clutch and brakes

Obviously, the 2007 is 3 years newer, but I'm not sure how much that matters... the main thing that concerns me is the timing belt, which I understand is an issue with these cars. Are there other issues I should consider?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts...

Hello Cary, Aveo is an awesome economy car that I think you would enjoy the benefits of owning one. If you decide to buy either Aveo, I recommend you have a GM Certified mechanic inspect the vehicle to ensure that there aren't any issues. Also, if you have the VIN numbers available, I could research them to see if there are any open recalls, major service issues or special coverages on the vehicles. If so, please private message me as I would be glad to check into it for you.

Good luck!
