2004 Chevy Aveo Timing Belt/ Engine Seize

So I've got an issue. My wife was driving her 2004 Aveo on the freeway when her car suddenly died. She wasn't able to start the car so we had it towed home. I charged the battery and attempted to start it up and I hear the starter spinning but without any engine movement, like a "zooooooooommmm" sound. After reading around the forum I decided to look at the the timing belt. It was stripped at the bottom where I believe the starter/flywheel spin the belt. With more reading of forums I realize there is likely damage to the valves. I continue to tear apart the engine and now I have the Head off.

I've got 16 bent valves and 4 gouged pistons. I have to assume I need a new engine, not just cylinder head as the cylinders themselves were probably impacted.

Should I try to get the cylinders machined and buy a new head? Or try to find an engine at a local yard? Thoughts are appreciated. My wife and I each have another car to drive and I've got time to work on the car at this point.

How did it go? What made you think the cylinder walls were bad? Scratches, or chunks? Probably hind sight, but you can usually just replace any bad pistons, and replace the rings and machine the head/install new guides/valves and be on your way.
