2005 Aveo Fuel Line Popped Off

I've owned this 2005 Aveo for 2 months and really like it. I went to leave for work this morning and it just cranked over no fire. I got out to pop the hood and fuel was pouring out from under the car. I saw the flex fuel line had popped off the fuel rail. Is this common??? What should I do to fix it??? I know a special tool should be used to dis-connect them, thats why I'm so baffled that it just popped off. It was running fine when I pulled in last night. Any suggestions would be great. I had to drive my gas guzzling F-150 to work today Ouch!

      Hi Shoebox-Chris,

I do apologize for this inconvenience. After researching my resources available to me, I was unable to provide an exact diagnosis. It would be a good idea to take this into a GM Certified Dealer to help resolve this problem. I would be happy to assist you further if you would like getting an appointment set up.

I look forward to hearing back.

      Vanessa,
I appreciate you replying and doing your job well. I bought this vehicle because I couldn't afford to fill a fullsize truck with gas. I surely cannot afford to pay a GM Dealer to fix it. I'm hoping that another Aveo owner may have some advise so that I may be able to fix it myself. If the engine were hot and this happened in traffic the car very well could have caught fire. My wife drives it and that scares me. Has there been any kind of Recall on these Aveos?

      Chris,

if the clip is not broken, the press it back on (it sort of snaps into place).

if the clip is broken it might act like it snaps back in, but will probably pop off again...

Use a plastic tie to hold the fuel line to the rail, the same thing happened on mine, the small plastic retention clip broke and i just put a plastic tie on it and its fine now.
