At about 40-60 mph this car will scare the crap outta me. Does a big sway almost feels like gonna lose control. Anyone tell me what this is or could be.

I had this happen after the (lowered) springs were changed. The car yaws like a V-tail Bonanza!
The tech removed the rear shocks, leaving the top mounting plate attached, and carefully re-tensioned the top mounting nut. He used a ring spanner, a very light tension, two fingers on the spanner, both the same, side by side and then remounted the assembly.
He did not need to remove the wheels to do this, just raise the rear of the car to the full extension of the shocks, the wheels stayed on the ground.
You may wish to check tyre pressures as well, I now use 38 front 36 rear. See my Garage page.

As Gclark8 eluded to this sounds like an issue with your suspension. Is this a new issue? any recent work done?
If anything out of the ordinary, I would check your sway bar end links first. Then rear as stated.
I personally lowered the car immediately after buying it. I would eibach springs before I even took delivery. I noticed on the highway during the test drive that passing SUVs and tractor trailers nearly blew the aveo off the road. This problem went away with the sport springs. I just kept going lower from there..
Other issues people have had that can cause the car to feel loose on the highway are wheel bearings, rear axle bushings, control arm bushings, and upper strut mounts. Most of these should be checked with a good alignment. The issue could also be a bad alignment or tires. So having an alignment down to check for bad parts and such would help point you in the right direction.
