2010 thermostat for the Aveo??

okay, hope the people here at the Forum can help me out. I want to replace my thermostat on my 2010 Aveo, found prices at Autozone for 29.99, O'Reilly was outrageous for 90 bucks, and RockAuto was 16 bucks plus shipping. I called Autozone because I wanted to change it this weekend, their telling me they can't get the part, I said REALLY you have it listed online..he puts me on hold to ask someone and come backs with, if the car was made in Mexico, than they have the part in stock for the 29.99 price. He said to look inside the door, well my car say GM Daewoo inside the door.. anyone got any information pertaining to this issue?? thanks in advanced.

My 2010 is from Mexico, and I just had my thermostat replaced under warranty about a month ago. I've never heard of there being a different thermostat...

FYI, the sticker inside the door SHOULD say "built in...". Also, the first number (or letter) of your VIN also indicates where the car was built.

if the car was built in mexico the vin # should start with a 3. I don't know of any aveo that was built in mexico.

this sticker, is it on the driver's door..or is it on the body? Yes I agree there shouldn't be a different thermostat the motor are all 1.6

I will check the vin # tomorrow morning.. yeah I never would of guessed made in Mexico..

Here's me. This sticker was found inside the driver's side door jam (on the body). There will also be a tire information sticker nearby.

Here's how mine breaksdown.

3 - Mexico
G - GM
1 - Chevrolet
TB - Aveo Mid-level Trim
5 - Sedan
D - Description of the restraint system, side airbags blah blah blah
E - 1.6L, etc
2 - check digit, means nothing
A - 2010
L - San Luis Potosi, Mexico Plant

after researching the vin code this afternoon, my Aveo is from South Korea.. still doesn't make any sence that the thermostat can't be gotten unless the car was made in Mexico. Has anyone else ran into this issue?
