Unhappy Add a DIC instrument cluster to a 2010 Aveo5 LS

Anyone done it with an 09 or 10? Is it as simple as replacing the cluster?

EDIT: The DIC was already there; the odometer window just needed to be cut out bigger (1 & 1/16" high) and a way to change the mode is all that was needed.

      This is what I did:

Has anyone figured out if the DIC is "plug and play" yet? The only thing I can find about DIC anywhere is an install on a silverado How to install Driver Information Center (DIC) buttons on a GM Chevrolet GMT900 Silverado. I wonder if the aveo is the same. It would be nice to know MPG and TEMP. I have a 2010 aveo5

What model? My dad has a G8, and I love that cluster! Nice red color when it lights up!

After consulting the service manual, I think I'm going to order a DIC cluster from a boneyard. I think everything will work except the ambient temperature. Now to find the right cluster....

F***! Sh**! Son-of-a-*****! That didn't go very well. FYI...don't disconnect the IPC unless you've got an automatic transmission or ready access to a Tech2. I've now got the wonderful DTC P080a which can only be cleared with a Tech2. I've got a tech2, but my Aveo is a GM-LAN car and requires the CANdi module which hasn't got here yet.

Hopefully my CANdi module will be here soon. In the meantime, I'll put a few miles on my V-Strom.

My Aveo already had the DIC; it was just covered up.

Found this on the web last night, opened up my IPC, and whudd-a-ya-know? There's my full display. I'm still going to use the replacement I got from the boneyard because I don't want to have to unsolder the LCD display to put the select button in, but this sure is interesting.

Looks like the Yahoo Swedish translator is not working...try this but brush up on your Russian first. Note the NON GMLAN label. I think most (if not all) of our 08+ cars have the WHB (GM LAN) option.

I have an 08 Aveo5 LT - do you think mine would also have this "hidden" gem? If so, which information displays - mpg (current/live)? temps (in/out), etc?

Seems to me I saw a Chinese-version replacement for the instrument cluster in a forum/thread somewhere, but cannot find it again: My odometer is "pixelating" on occasion, and from what I hear there's no individual component replacement available: Dealer advises $200 ~ $500, depending on the number string from the back of mu factory cluster... and suggestions?

      Thanks!
