aveo broke :( ( I got it Back!)

I was on my way home from work today and the rpm's started to drop slowly as the car started slowed down "what the?", it shuttered and shook so i tried to give it some gas and it reved up but didnt speed up, let of the gas chug chug and it died, threw it into neutral and coasted off the highway. it would not start ... :(

had to have roadside service tow it to the dealer, hope fully i will find out what the problem is tommorrow.

THIS SUCKS! i was going to install my lowering springs which just arrived today, BAH

if its a bum manufactuer prob, tell the dealer to install springs as compensation :x

i do have to say that it does look sexy with those wheels even if its being towed

Do you have an amp or have you attached a wire to the battery? This might have caused a short or something similiar

I know this sounds stupid...but did you run out of gas?

Sounds like a timing belt to me. How many miles? Dis you ever change it?

yes i have a baselink II sub hooked up to the batt with fuse.

i probably was not out of gas as the fuel light never came on and it was above red line. (i have had the gas light come on before)

and no i have never changed the timing belt, not sure right of hand how many miles are on it.

its a sad state of affairs to have to be flatbedded to the dealer. poor aveo!! i hope it recovers quickly, and costs pennies to repair!

sorry to hear that! i'd be interested to hear what year yours is and how many miles it has. i think yours is a year newer than mine- i have an 07 sedan, manual, and i had a fuel line recall on it, so you may want to look into that. but even a year after taking it in for that recall, i seem to have recurring rpm/gas power problems.

we should compare notes.

best of luck- hope it goes smoothly with the dealership, we all know what jerks they can be.

UPDATE:

whent down to the dealer today and they said it was a airflow sensor code or something like that and that it would not clear, they said they ordered a new computer and it wont be here untill next week :(

did they give you a loaner until your computer comes in?

is it me or does the rear tire look a lil off...like its toed out quite a bit, or is it just the angle? not tryin to nit pick but it looks weird.

lol, i took the pic with my cell phone, and the back looks low because the chains are still tightend down.

and no they did not give me a loaner, i had to borrow my grandma's mazda b2200, no ac or power steering lol

you know what theres does look like a lot of toe in the back....is it lowered?

no its not lowered, they just tightened the chains down super tight which pulled the rear down.
I will be putting my lowering springs on just as soon as i get it back lol
