I have a 72 Super Beetle with sun roof. I can see opening up the roof while driving with my love ones in the back. I little flick of the wrist and bye bye. That is like way cool. Now the roof on the beetle is built like a tank, what would that do to the Hatchback?
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

That was neat! reminded me of my 68 bettle: 1920 ford teardrop taillights, 64 front fender with the big headlights, empi 8 spoke alloys, pro comp. shifter, 1776 high power engine, dual Cadron carbs and etc, it was fast! but not compared to my budy 2017cc street bug, that thing would pull wheelies on stop lights.
My dad has a few friends in the old bug scene. Back when I was considering buying one for my first car (I was 15 at the time and there was a 1960's bug around me cheap), I was heavily contemplating a 2180cc engine, but everyone kept telling me anything over 1776 cc would be a gas guzzler. I eventually passed and ended up with my Monte Carlo. If I did buy a bug now, it'd probably end up at some point with a Subaru STi motor, a big wing, and 15 inch deep dish dome wheels. I've always had a soft spot for old bugs.

Yeah, even the 1776 was not great in gas. The carbs made a big difference, I tried the single big webber, than the duals and than the brasilian Cadrons, the last was the best for me. The Webbers used a lot more gas and not did not feel like they gave better performance. It was a fun car to own tho.
funny thing is, my Z34 gets like 17 MPG city so it's not like I did any better not getting the bug. lol
