As everyone pretty much knows, the Aveo got the US NCAP highest safety ratings, got ok ENCAP (Europe) ratings, and very, very poor ACAP (Australasia) safety ratings.
Does anyone know if there's a reason why the US Aveo scored the highest rating vs. the Barina getting only two stars -- aside from the obvious: that the tests aren't identical?
Are there substantive difference in the body structure or safety content in the US?
Do the newly (2007) designed sedans have increased safety?
