I read in the wikipedia article that "kalos" means "beautiful" in ancient Greek.
But I never saw any reference to what "Aveo" means. I assumed it was just a made up word, until I stumbled across an article on a Korean website about a car from the 90's called the "Avella"...
(Source: http://joongangdaily.joins.com/article/ ... id=2925586 )Its name, Avella, was a portmanteau for “aveo,” which means “desire” in Latin, and “ella,” a Spanish pronoun meaning “she.” By giving the car that name, Kia wanted it to be a car that people would desire.
So there you go. Aveo means "desire". Check it in this Latin dictionary:

PS: the "Avella" may look familiar to North Americans ... as the Ford Aspire. =D>
