General Motors plans to introduce a smallSUV called the Chevrolet Trax in a key addition to its foreign product mix.

GM spokesman Michael Albano said in an interview that the Trax reflects a response to "a lot of growth in this small SUV segment." He said it's "coming off a new architecture" that also generated the Chevrolet Sonic.

This is funny: this U.K. site talks about the new "Trax" (built on the Aveo platform), but shows a vehicle with quite different body details than the Detroit Free Press photo:
