BADDD clunking/grinding noise when turning left or right while driving

I have a 2007 aveo hatchback basic model, 120,000 miles. I havent replaced anything on it since I bought brand new in 2007. Last year about 80,000 miles I started having problems with loud road noise coming from the front tires, it almost sounded like the tires were rubbing against the wheel well. I took it to the repair shop for diagnosis and they said that my front struts needed to be replaced as well as "A-Arm bushings" (not sure what those are). Well I did not get that stuff fixed since then and the noise has been getting progressively worse and now at 120,000 miles there is a horrible horrible loud clunking almost grinding noise coming from the front end while driving. It seems only when I turn the steering wheel left or right, but it sounds so bad that I'm afraid to drive it. So I decided to replace the struts and strut mounts which I did myself and the horrible noise is still there.

Anyones input on what this could be would be amazing!!!

Control arms, less than $100 from rockauto will replace them both which includes the a arm bushings and ball joints. Here's a link to a write up from when I did mine.

Maybe outboard CV joints on axles. Visual inspection should tell you if the noise is that bad.

Mine is a 2005 Aveo and my control arm was less than $40 a side wich was made by Doorman #520-161 & #520-162 for left and right and if you prefer the Raybestos #507-1593 & #507-1594 Proffessional parts are better but are $42.21 each. You wont go wrong if your doing the work your-self because a mechanic would charge you $549 per Repairpal.com so you do the math. I bought my stuff from Amazon.com I bought my CV joints from Auto Zone at $61 ea (2) but thats up to you. After all is done and the repairs are completed you get the alignment done at the last minute.

Is the clunk metaliic sounding or does it sound hollow. Metallic is more likely bearings but if its hollow there is around bushing on top of your strut between the stut and body. If that gows bad it sounds awfull.
