The only blind spot I hate with the Aveo is the one created by the HUUUUGE A-pillar
I found on Wiki a great article that covers the A-pillar blind spot:

The one issue the article does not address is the the blind spot can keep a car hidden when are you turning left (left side driver)
I drew this picture using top views of 5 door Aveo and the Sedan. As you can see the car turning left has the yellow car blocked as they are turning. When I rush my stop with a quick left right look, I will not see the on coming car as blocked by the A-pillar.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....
A-pillar is nasty, but a lean forward helps with that. I need to get those domed mirrors that attach to the side mirrors for the other spots, I hate trying to look over my shoulder, and the aveo seats actually don't make that comfortable for me to do, especially with a passenger.

I had those mirrors you're talking about on my Volks because I worked a whole summer in a pick up that had them, when you learn to drive with them it's hard to got back to not having them
