      Blow in from Aus

      Hi Everyone,
just noseying round , I bought a new Holden (GM) Barina also known as the Deawoo Kalos which I think is also the Chevy Aveo and as we have little in the way of aftermarket stuff for them in Australia thought I'd have go at finding out what go faster bits I can find elsewhere.

      Heres a pic--.

It's a 1.6 Ver II hopefully the same as the Aveo which will mean I may stand a chance of finding stuff'.
      Cheers , Al.

Nice ride man, I like that car. I've got an 09' Aveo5 and it's a lot different from yours. I love your headlights, min have amber reflectors in them I intend on popping out. Did you say it had a ver II? I dont know what that is, but the new 09's here have 1.6L Ecotec 16V. PM me with any questions as I am starting to find more and more for this new car.

Hi, sorry , I meant the engine is an E-TECH II 16V (1.6lt) I don't know if its the same as the US one , my guess would be and it just has a different tag , though you may have different emmission control requirements when I think about it so there may be differences.
I am looking for a workshop manual --something like a Haynes would be fine , do you know if theres one out in the US yet ? even one that covers up to last year would be a start , here's one I found that may interest you I'm not sure it covers past the 1.4 though.

This years (Barina/Aveo) Australian car is designated TK09 and I'm guessing from your post that the US designation is AVEO5 so now I'll have a bit of an idea what I'm looking for whwn I'mk scouting around.
      Cheers , Al.

Yeah, your motor is different. 08' and earlier has the E-Tec II. I would think the manual for an 08 hatch would work for you with slight differences you being in Aus. Here's a link to an online download I found for an 07 Aveo sedan, don't know if it's the same though. http://www.ebooksquad.com/2007/09/19/20 ... anual.html. Good luck and welcome to the forums.

Hi, after your excellent 08 engine advice I have found this one:-
      http://www.books4cars.com/result3.asp?f ... ield2.y=10
However at US159.95 + freigh to Aus I think I'll hold my breath for a while and see if good ole Haynes coughs anything up or I can find something I can download.
The exchange rate is about Aus70c/US1.00 atm which'll make the manual about AUS$275.00+/- a bit landed.
Got love those Ruskis they don't give three fifths of a wombats fart these days , if there's a buck in it they'll online anything.
      Cheers ,
      Al .
