      Bringing back from the dead

Here is my journal entry for bringing back my 2006 Aveo from the dead.

      Issues:
      1) Crinkled hood (dear deer)
      2) Busted Driver Light and Turn Signal
      3) Chevy Badge Radiator inlet busted
      4) Various Parts in the front end busted
      5) Passenger Side Skirt Crushed (sign sign everywhere is a sign)
      6) Front Passenger Door crushed
      7) Rear Passenger Door crinkled
      Rear Axel Beam Bent

I have a check from the insurance company from the Dear Deer Incident. So I shall go to work

Here is pictures of the current status, the beginning:

      Here is the plan:

      1) Revive the rear end
      a) Used Rear Axel Beam
      b) new bushings
      c) coil over suspension VW MK2 Golf GTI Coilovers By Raceland
      d) paint the drums (color suggestions?)

      2) Rebuild the Front
      a) Replace the Radiator Front Support: Radiator Support | CarParts

The part is bent causing the hood latch and driver side light to have been pushed back.
      b) Replace the hood
      c) Put on new head lights 2004 2008 Chevy Aveo Hatch LED Halo Projector Headlight | eBay

I am not crazy about them (has anybody used these before?) and I would like to get something classier. Any suggestions?
      e) Put on coil over struts up front (I have Rabbit's kit). See above section

      3) Body Work Hell
      a) Replace the passenger door
      b) beat the rear door and pull our dents
      c) work the side skirt and cover it up using after market skirt.

      Any suggestions?

Well, I was raped by the street sign. Now we both know I would be dead if I took on a moose.

Here are the pictures of that fatal night as the deer winkled my hood in time:

I had a 500 buck deductible and I got 1200 bucks. So I should be able to pay for the fixes on front/side and pay for paint out of pocket.

search as many bone yards as possible, if u find one u may be able to negotiate a great deal with the $ u will be spending.

a couple of the u pull yards up here have aveos in them, it would save you a ton of money if you had the option to go that route.

Here are pictures of the damaged rear section. I was rather difficult to drive home as the car felt like it was getting ready to brake loose at any moment.

Oh that would look so good. Did you ever work out a kit? I will be happy once I get this working and then coil over suspension!

I ordered the Rear Axel Beam and a passenger front door. Thanks Rabbit for the find on the Rear Axel. I am wondering if I should go ahead and get new bushings for the trailing arms? I looked at mine and they were in good shape after 140K miles. Most likely these will be in good shape too.

Does anybody know why they fail in the first place?
