      Progress to date:
The Radiator Support is officially on the car and I can close the hood. Previously with the deer knock back, the hood needed help to get it open.

OK my welds are not the best looking and honestly, it's a lot harder than it looks
One from the outside and the other two are from the inside, showing I at least penetrated the metal

The rust is from the over night rain.

Got my new coil overs on the car

I then used the welder to repair the heat shield

I would show you my beautiful weld (sarcasm) but the dang camera focused on that lovely concrete.

That was pretty hard to do that above weld. I finally figured out how to just pop the trigger put tiny drops where they needed to be as that was some thin metal

those welds look as good as some of the body men i have worked with. Especially with the paint still around the metal. Do you still have the flux tip on it? In the picture your holding the welder, the shielding (black tube on end on the gun) looks like a flux set up, the "typical" gas tip would go from like even with the tip to an 1/8 past the tip the wire comes out of.. Like so

I am not sure I had a lot of posts to read. But the mk2 rear struts will work, but will over extend like you have seen, and will bottom out with less drop than those of us who are slammed. I only went to mk1 in the rear, and kept the mk2 fronts. But some guys are running mk1 all around. It just requires a little more grinding.

I had the MIG rig setup on it. I took a picture of the rig before I changed tips (I sent that to my girl friend, she was not amused by Darth Welder). I used a 25%Co2 and 75% argon mix. And thanks for the compliment. I will be going through and cleaning up all those welds and put a new coat of pain over them.

I finally got the front shocks on the car. I need to do a lot of adjustment once I get everything back together. I have that kit for years, and I am glad that I finally got it on the car.

      1) I'm envious that you're still working your car outside. Outdoor repair season ended about a month ago for me!

      2) Welding: I've got a cheap wire feed welder that works OK for occasional use. By the time the job is nearly done, my welds are starting to look decent. And then the welder goes away again until the next task, at which time I've forgotten everything and have to figure it out all over!

Tonight fixed the broken stud on my left front hub. After pulling the knuckle off and popping the hub, I suspect the bearing is messed up. So going to order a new one, so I can take it all apart again (again).

I got new pads coming tomorrow, YEAH! Soon I will start assembling everything back together. So tonight I cleaned up the rear wheels and got them on the car.

My head lights came in today. They are the black background projector head lights. Bummer the left front headlight bracket was broken the same way the F'ng deer broke my left front as well.

Others on this board had mentioned issues with getting things lit well. One guy took and LED strip and slid it into the channel for the eye brow. I am going to do a how to on wiring and installing these guys. Mine have the HID light kit that came with them. So that's a bit more work. I also will have to figure out how to get around the Daylight Driving Module.

on your car, you just unplug the DRL module on the firewall. DRLs go out, everything else works like it should.
