If your a typical speeder, you want to know if your state is an 'absolute speed' or a 'presumed speed' state.
You can legally speed in a presumed speed state, provided you meet some criteria. You can still be issued a ticket but you have the ability to prove in court that you met all the criteria, and have the thing dropped.
In an absolute state you have no reason to be going over the posted limit...you can try to make the court doubt the radar and the cop be we all know how that goes.
The criteria in a presumed state is that the road was clear of pedestrians, it was bright sunny day with perfect visibility, pavement was dry, tires, brakes and vehicle were in tip top shape. The roadway allowed for such (reasonable)speed to be maintained. Such as say 72 in a 55 on an expressway on a Sunny Sunday morning in a capable vehicle.
