Carbon Fiber engine cover

I guess this as good as any place to post an update about the engine cover being made.

The cover has been de-badged and has gone back and forth with primer surfacer and sanding several times to get a glass like finish before it goes into the mold proccess. The final product should be ready very soon.

not really sure yet, it really comes down to how many layers will have to be layed to get a rigid piece and how easy they come out of the mold.

whiteraven is the one that prompted the project and at some point I think he was quoting them based on what another shop was going to do them for but I really don't know.

for now I'd have to say about $150-$175 but the price may very.

+1, thats why i took mine off, the engine looks better with it off, i think it would be better to get a cover over the spark plug wires, not the whole valve cover, just like the honda motors have, i think that would look nicer.

sounds like a plan. I should be getting a 1.6 motor shortly so I can check that out for sure.

it looks good but if it wasn't for it not having the 1.6L and the E-tecII it just looks like a cover painted Flat black. the Left side will have the extra Removed Right? and Carbin Fiber has that Fiber look to it. Why don't you're covers have that "Carbin fiber" Look to it? is it just a test with Plastic? or is it real Carbin Fiber?

I think thats the original cover, just a mold with it sanded down and painted..

I wouldn't waste your time making them if you are going to charge $150-$175 for them...unless you want one for yourself...

Read bro... lol... He stated that it's the original shaved down. Going to have a mold made and then cast in carbon fiber...
