Tim and I put together this reference from GM info about year over year changes to technical specs, features, and marketing for the North American market Aveo.
(Formatting may be slightly wonky in some of these, but we'll sort that out.)

Very nice appreciate the work you guys put into this
There is some really good information in there if you are willing to dig through it a bit. I noticed that in 07 they went from a 18mm front swaybar to a 17mm swaybar. I'm not sure if the swaybar will fit considering they also widened the car about 2" in 07, but its something to look into. It may not seem like much, but the bending strength of a 18mm vs 17mm bar is 20% higher. Of course, it all depends on how the bar is designed. So, someone should get a some pictures of their bars. They also went to a higher rate spring in 07. So, those looking to stiffen things up a bit with their 04-06 but don't want to drop should look at an 07-08 spring set. Those are just a couple things I found, I'm sure theres more.
Interesting point in reviewing these specs: One reason I bought a 2009 Aveo (rather than a Yaris or a Fit) is that the Aveo has a stainless steel exhaust. Apparently the years made before 2009 didn't, and the other makes still don't have it either. Chevy never made a selling point of this in their marketing . I was surprised and delighted to find out it has it. To me, stainless is a big advantage in longevity. The stainless steel exhaust on my 21 year old Galant is all original, with the exception of the manifold exhaust pipe and one resonator that I had to cut out.
Hmm... that's interesting, in 2006 (my year), stock manual transmission 5-door aveo's curb weight is 2436 lbs. 2008 Aveo5's stock manual curb weight is 2348 lbs - that's 88 lbs shaved off the weight. But then 2010 Aveo5 is coming in at 2546 lbs. That's 110 lbs heavier than 2006, and 198 lbs heavier than an 08 hatch! Why such a weight difference? All the weights are for 5-door manual models.
2006 Chevrolet Aveo a.k.a. Holden Barina – SOLD
2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SS/TC - SOLD
Hmm I noticed on my model (2005 LS) it states "Transmission - 4-speed automatic with overdrive (not available when air conditioning ordered on LS model)"?????!!!? My Model came with an automatic transmission, with A/C, No Foglights, and No ABS..... yet when I check my fuse box there are fuses for all of these things put in. I dont have the power package (Power Windows/Locks). So I am not exactly sure how the person got this model when they did. (I purchased this model from a repo auction)
its the same for all the cars, they add the extra spots in for all instead of making 15 different fuse boxes for each option
some options are even added and installed that the dealer itself and not the factory

Good work, guys---thanks!
Any further details on the spring rate increase for '08... any measurements or part numbers? Compatible with '04-'06?
they would be compatible, the mounting points stayed the same.
If the increase carries over to 09. I have my 09 stock springs here and a factory air box if you haven't found one. I don't think ill ever go back to stock.
