what kind of 2011 sedan ?
A 2011 Aveo. Rented from Hertz.
must have really liked it if your on the forums now
As for the Aveo Sedan vs Cruze thing, I do see there being an Aveo sedan for 2012. Why do I say this?
While the Aveo doesn't have the best reputation, it does have one and is an established good commuter car. Plus the fact that in the USA, sedans often outsell hatchbacks. Basically, I'm saying the Aveo sedan would be Chevrolet's fail-safe car in case the Cruze doesn't sell. The Cruze has to appeal to all the people who loved the Cobalt before it, which has started to have a cult-like following. I myself am a big fan of the Cobalt and don't see the Cruze as a proper replacement. On top of that, when the Cobalt was canceled, this was said:
"The Cruze will build on the already successful Chevrolet Cobalt, Cobalt XFE and Cobalt SS, all of which are nearly sold out in dealer showrooms," said GMNA vice president of Chevrolet Ed Peper. “Our dealers are asking for many more Cobalts than we can build." The Cobalt ended production in June 2010.
If the Cobalt was so successful, why not just build a second generation of it? And don't try telling me the Cruze IS a second generation Cobalt, because it's just not.
- 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34 - LQ1 3.4L DOHC 24 valve semi-hemi V6, 210 HP, 215 ft-lbs of torque, 4T60e 4 speed automatic with O/D.... 123,000+ miles. Slowly resto-modding it.
- looking for a first gen Aveo for a daily driver :D
from what ive heard, cobalt is not nearly a success as the cavalier was, hence them ditching it..
but with the same drive train, it seems gm in its refocus is going to have the cruze as the sedan option, and the aveo as the hatch option, but they like overlap, much like ford now has the focus as both coupe and sedan, and the fiesta is a hatch and sedan as well. not that i am going to look but i imagine since they are about the same size and probably price, the focus sedan and fiesta sedan are in the same class.. self competition ?
I guess i just prefer companies that have singular alignment, like vw, audi, hyundai, bmw, honda, heck seems like almost everyone BUT the us companies.. have only one model in each "class" generally, toyota builds in own competition in scion and yaris, taking the american card.
gm should have just stuck with w body cars.

But seriously - they might have just added those pages. When you first posted this thread, I couldn't find the 2011 Aveos on the Chevy site either.
But that person you chatted with was obviously clueless. And again, not her fault.
anyone else notice that on the cruze, you cant seem to get the 1.4t and a 6 speed manual together?
chevy is just screwing up, they need to keep the aveo and put a 6 speed in them, it would greatly improve the economy. just look at the ford fiesta, they already have sport packages ready for it including CAI, Exhaust kits and suspension kits for it. if GM would do this for the aveo i think i would greatly improve the market for the aveo. GM needs to take a look at what ford is doing.
