I'm sorry about your Aveo. It seem so unfair when someone just damages your car and you are left to figure out what to do. that sucks!! I hope it all works out for you in the end!

So sorry to hear about the accident. Why do they give these people driver's licenses?

I know exactly what its like to go through insurance claims related to somebody hitting your car due to negligence. It's not fun, but here's a tip. If you REALLY EMPHASIZE the fact that your car has sentimental value( but don't overdo it ), they'll be more generous when cutting you a check. It worked for me. Good Luck

Yea, I hope this all goes smoothly as well. I have a rental Corolla right now until its all sorted out (covered by insurance.) As for the Aveo, I have at least until tomorrow (monday) to wait, that is when they are picking it up and taking it to their claim center. So we'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Update for those who are interested. Apparently there is 2200 dollars of damage, they claim it's only body work so it's in the shop being fixed right now. In the mean time I'm stuck in a pt cruiser loaner.. I hate that car, can't wait to get the aveo back.

did they at least give u the "good" cruiser? the turbo one?
You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.

      Re: Crash

      thats doubtful..

i am always reaffirmed in my thoughts as to why the big 3 are in trouble when i get into an "american" built car, like the PT cruiser, cobalt, etc. when i have them as rentals.

it seems like our car is high quality parts and cheap labor, but to make up for what they pay american manufacturing employees, the "better" cars need to use cheaper parts..

i would have to say that even though the aveo is typically cheaper, it is better built than most of the more expensive domestic "competition", it rides better too.

      Re: Crash

Judging by how poor the acceleration is on the pt cruiser I doubt its a turbo. It handles like **** too though, and it might just be old, but it seems like every part in it sticks. Accelerating from a stop results in a feeling of being held by glue or something to the road, and then finally breaking free and lurching forward.

As for thing about the Aveo feeling better, surprisingly enough I agree. During this time its been in the shop I've been considering trading up to one of those cheap Accents or a Yaris hatch. Thing is I have driven a Corolla and a Pt Cruiser while its been in the shop and I am dying to be back behind the Aveo's wheel. Even when I've driven my girlfriends Cobalt or my dads 06 Lancer Sportback for any extended period of time I cant wait to drive the Aveo again. Maybe I'm just used to it but it just feels right to me.
