My dash light and tail light was on one minute and now permanently off. I've read about sp 100 as burning up. I wonder how to properly remove it and fix it.

what year? what is sp 100? Maybe a fuse has gone? Are you talking the brake lights or the running lights?
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....
I've got the same issue. Right taillight is out and dash lights are out. Tried to look at the bulb to see if the bulb is burned out, but can't get the damn taillight housing out and don't want to force and break it. What fuse would we look for?
Just had it in the dealership for the DRL module recall. Ours is an 06 LS
I did some research and tried to do it myself. The fuse box in the engine compartment , you will find the junction box or splice. I took off the entire battery for more space to work with. I'll the picture of the junction box, burnt.

I agree in the asking of: What is sp 100?
If you try not to throw around numerical codes with no other explanation provided, a more complete description will make it easier for those here who are trying to help you.

I know this might sound unkind, but removal of the taillight housing and bulb replacement is very simple compared to other possible electrical problems. In other words, if you can't manage changing a bulb, you might not be able to understand and solve more complicated electrical problems.I've got the same issue.
