that mk2 linkage does not carry over to VR6, if you look beside the part they are holding, you can see the ends of the shift cables.
i called that guy today, and he's a real weirdo. i told him i didnt know the name of the part, and explained what it looked like and did, and he said it was a thingy-mah-doo and he had 10 in stock. he also said they cost a billion dollars each. but after that he said there was a VW salvage yard in Allentown called LNT Enterprise that would def have what i was looking for. gotta call tomorrow and hope i dont get the busy signal all day again.Originally Posted by petrified.rabbit
sorry i think that is funny..
and even though he was making fun, he told you where to get it.
be that as it may, he didnt know what the little ****er was called either lolOriginally Posted by petrified.rabbit
i think it would be the shifter pivot arm.. swing arm.. input arm...
i called that Salvage yard that specializes in VW's, and when i told the guy what i needed, he gave me the same description i'v been giving everyone i called lol. then he went to give me a quote, and when he came back, he gave me another description to narrow it down. i guess VW never gave this part a name??Originally Posted by petrified.rabbit
you would need to look it up on etka to know the specific name.
but i can't say i know too many manufacturers that give their own parts names.
typically parts names come from post parts people.. who need to find replacements and have replaced enough of the same part that the general name is used.
or buy a new aveo and do not worry about all this :P JK, good luck in your part hunt
