      Fuel door stuck

Hi all . Bought my used aveo recently. It was missing the fuel door. Well went to the local wrecker and found one same colour and fits great. Now after installing I closed the door. I should have checked if the pin was working.Obviously it isnt. Now I cant open the door. I had my wife pull the latch while i play with the door, but didnt work.Fortunately I have a full tank of gas untill refill. But is there a reason why it won't open? Is there a way to open it? I suspect now the former owner got tired of it sticking and removed it. Thanks dd

does the cord pull or is it stuck? you could try spraying pb blaster in the pin and let it soak a bit and try again.

if not, you might need to disconnect it from behind. it stick a putty knife in there to open the door.

the cord pulls. You can hear clicking at door itself. Maybe pin isn't pulling in enough?

could be. does anybody know if there's a cable adjuster on it. seems like there should be...
also could be that the cable is broken at the pin and you can just hear the cable moving.

that's possible also. For now I think I will try to pry it open without breaking it. Maybe just not use the pin release altogether and put a self closing spring to keep it closed until refuel time. That's if all else fails.

So I was able to open door by manually pushing in pin with a fishwire. Had my wife pull on lever and watched the pin.Nothing happened. It makes a clicking sound but no movement. So maybe cable is unattatched at pin.Tried looking in trunk for access to it but no luck.I noticed on the pin portion there is like a retainer ring.Does anyone know if this can be screwed off to access cable? Also looked for cable adjustment, but dont see any. If all else fails I may just bypass the lever and just epoxy a magnet on the inside of the fuel door.
