-This is the level of Jim's stupidity. He's the only real problem here.

      1995-1999 Toyota Tercel
      Class: Subcompact
      engine: 1.5L 93HP DOHC I4
      weight: 2005 lbs

      is somehow safer than:

      1995-1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
      Class: mid-size sports coupe/luxury car
      engines: 3.1L 160 HP pushrod V6/ 3.4L 210-215 HP DOHC v6/ 3.8L 200 HP 3800 pushrod V6
      weight: 3450 lbs
5 star safety rating by the Insurance institute for Highway Safety and a best pick

and he says this because the Toyota is a Toyota and the Chevy is "Domestic crap"

Good points all around! I'm a safe driver, my mom's boyfriend is a lame brain, and my mom is a worrywort, so, everything should be fine. Thanks, people.

Ah, yes...the ugly side of being a "good daughter" is that I can't say things like this. My mom's just a worrywort. I'll be 60, driving a Cadillac Catera, and she'll be 93 and STILL calling me to make sure I'm okay and that I reached my destination alright. Anyway, sorry for the off topic portions of the conversation, I'm just trying to get verification that I can trust my Aveo as long as I drive sanely.

OOOOOH! On that note, I passed a Toyota Rav4 the other day on the road! It passed me, cut me off, and ended up getting stuck behind an old lady in a Nissan Murano. It was one of those epic moments that just made me lol.

As you just said, as long as you drive safely you should be good... on another note, that Catera engine should fit in the Aveo...
