Going from 14 in wheels to 15's

Do most of you have 15 inch wheels? If so, did it do anything to your speedometer reading?
What should I look out for?
      Thanks!

It wouldn't do anything to your speedometer reading if you use the correct size tires, as LT models come with 15 inch tires and 185/55-15 tires... as long as you're with the same size tires you should be fine... If you go wider, the height of the tirewall has to be shorter, but then you'll see the change in the speedometer reading.

I'm using 17" with 205/40-17 and some guys on here even have 18" wheels on theirs. The reading won't be off by much. There are multiple sites and tools to figure out the change in the reading, but it won't be anything major if you're smart about choosing your tire size...

Re: Going from 14 in wheels to 15's

Mine came with 14 in wheels. It think a 15 would fill up the wheel well more and look better. Now if I can find some I can afford.....maybe next month or so. Discount Tire has some good looking wheels on sale right now. I appreciate all the help with this.

      Your car looks great btw!!!

Thanks. And discount tires Co have some good deals on their "wheels under $100" board (they're all hanging on a board on the wall at our local store) I checked out their MB Drift wheels (I think that's what they're called, also black 5 spoke with polished lip).

Re: Going from 14 in wheels to 15's

I went from the stock 14" to 15" Aveo wheels using 195/50-15 tires. According to the GPS it's right on the money.

One thing to keep in mind though, just like petrified.rabbit just said in one of the other threads, tire sizes differ when you go from manufacturer to manufacturer...

Re: Going from 14 in wheels to 15's

I have 205/40/17, which is supposed to make your speedometer read about 3.03% higher, but I've moved my pointer a little when I was messing with my gauge faces, so now it's accurate according to GPS.
