Do most of you have 15 inch wheels? If so, did it do anything to your speedometer reading?
What should I look out for?
Thanks!

It wouldn't do anything to your speedometer reading if you use the correct size tires, as LT models come with 15 inch tires and 185/55-15 tires... as long as you're with the same size tires you should be fine... If you go wider, the height of the tirewall has to be shorter, but then you'll see the change in the speedometer reading.
I'm using 17" with 205/40-17 and some guys on here even have 18" wheels on theirs. The reading won't be off by much. There are multiple sites and tools to figure out the change in the reading, but it won't be anything major if you're smart about choosing your tire size...
Mine came with 14 in wheels. It think a 15 would fill up the wheel well more and look better. Now if I can find some I can afford.....maybe next month or so. Discount Tire has some good looking wheels on sale right now. I appreciate all the help with this.
Your car looks great btw!!!
Thanks. And discount tires Co have some good deals on their "wheels under $100" board (they're all hanging on a board on the wall at our local store) I checked out their MB Drift wheels (I think that's what they're called, also black 5 spoke with polished lip).
I went from the stock 14" to 15" Aveo wheels using 195/50-15 tires. According to the GPS it's right on the money.

One thing to keep in mind though, just like petrified.rabbit just said in one of the other threads, tire sizes differ when you go from manufacturer to manufacturer...
i have 18s and running 35 profile and my speedo is actualy spot on...
^^mine 2
215/35/18 but i want 40s
I had 15s from a Miata on my Aveo, had to bore out the center but looks hot
I have 205/40/17, which is supposed to make your speedometer read about 3.03% higher, but I've moved my pointer a little when I was messing with my gauge faces, so now it's accurate according to GPS.
if you go to 15" wheels get 195/50r15 tires, not the 185/55r15. they are close enough in diameter, but the contact patch will help performance. Plus it is a more common tire size and cheaper.
I have 205/50/15. They did rub a little on the inner fender which was easy to modify with some massaging care of a 2.5 pound hammer. Followed up with some flat black paint and you can't even tell.Quote:

Ive got 17x7 rims with 205/40s no rubbing issues at all, when my speedo reads 60mph, the car is actually doing 61.5mph, not a big enough difference to matter to me

I got 205/50 r17 rims from a srt4 'tsw' I have rubbing on the inner fender well too
But that's only when I pop u-ies. But my speedometer is off by some but I got a scan gauge to tell me the correct speed in real time. The website seregey mentioned your supposed to read 3% or lower when upping size from the factory tire. My 205/50 r17 read almost 9%! Which is way to much your car can handle and I'm already having transmission issues Andorra can cause
Brake failure at high speeds only cause those tires are bigger n heavier than your poor little 1.6l engine can handle. So I'll b downgrading a bit soon still stayin with the 17" rims
But lighter n maybe 205/40 tires.
