Sad news, my Aveo5 has been declared a write off even though the car still runs tremendously. The cost to repair exceeded the value of the vehicle. I just purchased the new 2014 Hyundai Accent GL Hatchback and will say goodbye to the Chevy econo cars for now even though I was seriously considering the Spark as its replacement. Thank you to all in this forum who contributed info and tutorials on the Aveo's maintenance/repairs as it helped a lot with me keeping the engine in tip top shape! Anyhow, the car retires at 126,000 km's and I am still convinced I could have had it go all the way up 400,000 km's with no problems.

Tough to have the plug pulled like that on one that you like and is running well. I'm assuming no injuries, which is all that really matters anyway. Thanks to you for your contributions to the forum, and best of luck with your new Hyundai !

I would have loved to see an aveo swap into a spark, I've thought about it, sorry for the loss n good luck with the Hyundai. Their drive train is awesome ( I'm a past owner of a 2010) but they skimp on the interior plastics. As an aveo owner that comment is awkward. Good luck.
