In the case of the Aveo I'm working if you held the belts next to each other and stretch them out the old one was 3 inches longer.

In the case of the Aveo I'm working if you held the belts next to each other and stretch them out the old one was 3 inches longer.

On the 3 belts that I've done, the new and old were EXACTLY the same size - no stretch of the old belt whatsoever. You might want to check the part number on the new belt itself to make aure it's the correct one for this aveo. If it is correct, I'd be more than curious to know how that engine was running with a belt 3 inches longer than the spec.
