      Question Help Needed

Hey everyone, been a while so I figured I would give you the ball on this one. Ever since I changed the valve cover gasket, I have not had a misfire. Last week on my way to camp in a cooler and wet area, my car experienced the same things as before, except no oil leaking into plugs. Once the rain dried up and it got warmer, the problems ceased.... any Ideas.

Maaaybe try misting certain components in the engine bay with water in a spray bottle? (In the dark. And look for any sparks?)

One possibility is debris caught between the surfaces. But more likely is incorrect torque for some of the VC bolts. Installation of the gasket should be done using a criss-cross pattern in multiple passes (at least 2 and 3 is better), with increasing torque on each pass, until the spec 89 inch lbs on the final pass. The typical DIYer (like me), who doesn't do this stuff every day, should use a torque wrench.
