Highest Mileage Aveo (how many miles / km on yours now?)

Bought my 2005 Aveo LS in October 2004 new. Now have 217,000 miles on it. Replaced timing belt, plugs and wires once. Only thing else I have done to the engine is change the valve cover gasket. I have always changed the oil every 3,000 miles or so. That is the key to keeping any motor going. I did have the transmission go out at 155,00 miles.

I'm a little over 110,000 miles and bought mine new in 06 and is Oct. 2016 now. I doubt it is any record setter.

Two 2004 Aveo's purchased new...... 1-automatic @ 183k and 1-stick @ 143k.....
Total ( not counting-routine timing belt maintenance every 60k) repairs so far...... 1- clutch, 3- sets front brake pads, 1-a/c compressor, 1- heater/ac blower motor, 1- oxygen sensor, 2- thermostat housings, 2- valve cover gaskets......not bad for 2 under $10,000 vehicles : )

Forgot to add 1 front wheel bearing at about 140k & 1 a/c compressor bad at about 100k

I have a 2004 Aveo LS Sedan with over 220,000 miles. I change the oil every 4K and the Timing Belt every 80,000 or so. The engine is sound but the Front Wheel Bearings keep going. Not as often as I have heard but enough times that they should modify the bearings some how. I love my Aveo and I am hoping to get another 200,000 on this engine.

Wish there was spindle adapters so you could just press in a new spindle with a different bolt pattern. Ive seen the blue hatch with it done, Mercedes 5 lug, i have a 04 with 120k, when i got it it needed a wheel bearing and tie-rods end, but after going coilover then lowering then slamming then the lowest drop on mk2 possible , ive needed a radiator, couple of trans mount bracket bolts, inner motor mount bracket, timing belt, cams due to freak shearing accident of the inner motor mount(only 3 bolts holing it in). The mount and bolts ate the timing belt up and it almost ripped but i caught it in time. I enjoy breaking necks as the lowest aveo, maybe world wide. Haven't seen one lower than me. Will be mk1 and tucking hard in the rear soon

Just an update. I recently did my 700,000 oil change.



That's in km. Metric just sounds better.

Sadly (happily) I'm not teaching all over Michigan anymore, so I'm about done racking up miles like crazy. My last big milestone is probably going to be half a million miles, but I doubt I'll hit too many after that.

I've got my Mom's little-old-lady 06 Aveo and it just turned 18k. I think I said it had 16 in the introductions thread but I was wrong. It still doesn't get driven much so it's going to be a long time until has many miles on it.
I have an '89 Toyota pickup with 484,000 on the original drivetrain, I've owned it since it was a year old and kept it maintained. It's had 3 timing chains and one head gasket/valve job and that's it. I don't think this Aveo will go that long, but I'd say it's good for 300 with proper maintenance.
