Hey just one vowel away from Pat. lol.
So now I have the kit in hand, and want to go instal it, but now I want a new water pump.
So I'll have to wait to install everything still.

Pat would be even more degrading, if you ask me.
:P
2007 with close to 70,000 on it. I drive more than you'd care to know. I plan to sell it by end of 09 or early 2010.
In relate to the old SNL skit...'pat' I can see how that would feel that way, lol.Originally Posted by petrified.rabbit

Will these 1.6's be good for 250k miles?
I actually signed up for some bogus quakerstate warranty for 250k if I keep proof of every oilchange with quakerstate oil and filter.
Thats out the window, as I wouldnt use a quakerstate filter. I couldnt find where they sell them (i think kmart) and filter tests indicated this filter was a rebadged poor quality unit.
these cars would last a while with proper maintence, of course i would rebuild the engine about every 150k and make sure the tranmission has good fluid in it
lol i wouldnt buy car things from kmart
honestly. i wouldn't rebuilt the engine at 150k, probably at 200-250k.. but even then it would be the same cost less work and faster to run it until engine failure, and then buy a rebuilt, or a low mile junkyard engine and toss it in.
yeah a swap would be quicker, but im going to gather parts for the the next year or two and rebuild it, also my friend just started at wyotech so he will do some nice work with my engine when its apart
wyotech in pa? if so, he's like 45 minutes from me.
i went to that school 10? years ago, before it was "named" wyotech.
in fla somewhere, ill have to call him sometime anyways
im pretty sure he said he was going to wyotech, but ill have to find out
my 04 aveo will be at 132,000miles in the next week or 2. As far as problems go, the list of problems Ive had is bigger than the car itself
