My 2007 Aveo 5 just hit 77,000. My theory is that the manual transmission Aveo will go forever
with proper maintenance. It's like the original honda civic engine. It will outlast the car's chassis and other rust prone items.

2008 Aveo 5 LT 481,205

Had to replaced it got into a crash and was totaled by insurance but drove it home from work damaged hood and fire wall and window left fender. Was being drove to and from work 5-6 days week 120 miles round trip was trying to hit 500,000 Bought it with 45,000 miles was an ex rental car.

Replaced transmission at around 382,000

Had stopped at light and then would not move shut off motor put back into drive and moved fine but was making a rubbing sound thank God this was just 1000 feat from work, So parked till I replaced the trans I had bought 1 about 6 years prior for $350 off eBay with 45,000 out of a 2011 thank God (because the manual trans went out on my 1995 Nissan V6 4x4 pick up with 450,000 on it, here's the thing it was noisy in all gears except 4th) I took it apart everything looked fine except the actual gears there were a few chipped teeth and the stamped hub that goes through the main pion gear was being rubbed on actual cause was main pion bearing was way worn out allowing it to cock sideways and rub on the hub and that caused gears to break from miss alignment side load

replaced timing belt, idler, tensioner, water pump, serpentine belt, tensioner and coolant every 120,000 miles had to replace all wheel bearings once went with Timken tapered roller bearings, surge tank once, hoses once, and one alternator got a used on off of eBay with 56,000 miles off a 2008 replaced that at 250,000 bearing went out locked up.

I have a 2009 Chevy avail five LS five speed 172,735 miles March 27, 2023 second owner original transmission clutch and engine no upgrades but does anybody have an idea on the proper strut mounts in the front for this independent suspension
