I personally like the fact that I can buy it with NOTHING. We were looking at a "base" yaris at a toyota dealership before we bought our '07 aveo... They say MSRP 11,999 or whatever... the damn thing had floor mats, an armrest (that just got in the way of the shifter), cd mp3, and an aux jack... somehow that all added up to an extra $2k... "Well, can you take the floormats and armrest out?" "NOPE!"

Screw that ****, I don't need an armrest, I don't need an aux jack, I'll add in my own headunit later... A/C is negotiable.

thats one of the reasons i ended up with an aveo. you could actually get one off the lot for less than 12k.

yaris, hyundai, fit, (i know i am missing some) all claim in adds and such to be cheaper but the fine print is either with 4000 down or the car isn't actually available in base form.

I just bought my 'o9 in absolute base model. I didnt want A/C, can handle locking my own doors, and rolling down my own windows. I know it might hurt me in resale value, but I plan on running this beast into the ground.

Yeah, down here in Florida its almost like its illegal not to have A/C. you can fry eggs on the dash in the summer

i remember when my brother in laws parents moved back to new york from puerto rico they brought their nissan sentra with them. the car had a/c but no heating system. they had to get heat dealer installed here in new york. that was funny to me.
